There are some themes that never seem to get old, and the pirate life always seems to be fun to experience, even if it’s only in slot machine form. Baam Boom is just that sort of slot machine, pirate-themed and also coming via Playtech, a developer with enough experience under its belt that it has no problem offering a fun game.
In Baam Boom, we’re looking at a slot machine which offers 25 active lines, 5 reels, while wins appear capable of going as high as $125,000 for one round. There are some very complex features inside, relying on wilds, scatters or free spins at first, but then moving on to a multi-level bonus game where you have to locate treasures.
Betting and Prizes
30 coins are going to be used in each round of Baam Boom, even though you get only 25 active lines in exchange. Your bets start from $0.30, and may reach a maximum value of $300, which will give the line bet a value between $0.01 and $10.
The most that you seem able to win in this game, for a single spin, is $125,000, provided that you fill up the reels with high symbols, each one offering as much as $5,000. The scatters can pay better if you look at the best five symbols you could land, with $30,000 (100x the stake) on the line.
Baam Boom Slot Features
The features start off simple enough, but they end up quite complex if you look at all the rules in place for the bonus game.
Before we get there, let’s check out the Wilds. They have a Red X image placed on a cannonball, one with gold background (base game), the other with a dark purple background (Treasure Chest feature only). Both symbols are capable of forming combinations which pay $10,000.
The scatters will be useful because they will trigger 10 to 30 free spins, when landing in 3 to 5 locations. You collect the Cannonball Wilds, and at the next stage you reach the Treasure Chest bonus. You use the cannonballs to target locations on the map and you fire at them, trying to find treasures. For every five prizes found, you are taken to the next map level. Five levels are used in total, each one with better rewards. You complete the feature by clearing all five maps.
Besides the free spins and a Treasure Chest feature which you get via scatters, there will also be a bonus feature triggered when you collect five wilds in the base game. This will give you one of the maps from the Treasure Chest bonus, picked at random, along with 5 cannonballs to use on it. You get paid, and that’s it. This feature doesn’t give you access to all five maps.
Theme & Design
The theme is interesting still, despite being extremely common at casinos. Every developer seems to have at least one pirate themed release. The game’s graphics are cute, cartoon style but easy on the eyes, not too childish. You have images of cannonballs, of skulls, cannons, pistols, barrels of rum, mugs of ale, but also several colorful Royals which have a slightly metallic look. I quite enjoyed the end result of the designer’s efforts.
Baam Boom will offer some interesting bonus features, has excellent potential payout wise, plus a theme that everyone can love.
