Due for release in December 2019, Wild Frames is going to be a new Play n Go title, a slot machine with high volatility, but more than adequate rewards as well. It’s a standard classic theme, but with a modern approach to its gameplay, and overall it will feature the typical modern design quality that’s expected from this developer.
Wild Frames is one of Play n GO’s exciting new games for 2019, a late release which is going to feature big top prizes (7,000x total stake), but which will have a high volatility as well, to go with its 96.50% RTP. It’s a game with 7x7 reels, which uses Cluster Pays to create winning combinations. On the list of features, the game includes the Frame and potential multipliers of up to 9x, along with a Charge feature, the possibility to go into a Wild Frames mode, but also a chance at random wilds.
You’re going to have the option to get the reels going by using bets of $0.20 or higher, even up to $100, if you want to. This gets you all available symbols, so you’re only changing how much will go to the next round, there are no limitations if you pick a smaller bet.
Paying at most 7,000x the round’s stake for a single spin. Wild Frames is among the better games in Play n GO’s collection, though there are some examples there that will do even better.
As you can imagine, the game’s got high volatility, but provided that you know what you’re getting yourself into, it’s OK. The RTP is at a more than adequate level, of 96.50%.
For the winning combinations of this game, you need clusters of matching symbols to form. Touching horizontally or vertically, the symbols need to be in groups of 5 or more, to get you a prize. Once a combination/cluster forms, the winning symbols get removed and others will cascade in.
The chance for you to get random wild symbols added to the reels is there. When triggered, the feature will help you by hopefully placing 4-6 wilds in positions which allow them to act as substitutes for regular icons. This can only happen during losing rounds, where no wins are paid.
Wild symbols will create a sticky frame in the position where they land. If there is already a frame in the spot where the wild has landed, then a multiplier is added to it, and it will go up by 1x, potentially reaching a maximum of 9x.
Another interesting feature is the Charge, with three variants available, as well as an Overcharge option. A small charge goes to the meter, with each new cluster that you form. Three different features will trigger, as you get 20, 40, and then 60 charges, in the meter. The three features are called Transform (all high value symbols are transformed into a single high symbol), Wildcard (adds 3-6 random wilds) and Shatter (takes away low value symbols).
To get the Wild Frames mode, you need 80 charges in the meter. At this point, you activate all the grid’s frames and you turn symbols found within them into wilds. Multipliers are applied by frames which have them. Once winning clusters stop forming, the feature ends.
It’s not much of a theme, you’re just getting a classic mix of symbols. The difference is that the design quality is high, it looks like a modern slot machine, particularly since it has 7x7 reels as well. As symbols, you find 7s, diamonds, stars, bells and card suits.
Wild Frames is going to be interesting to play, I will give it that much, and as a slot with high volatility it can pay very well, up to 7,000x.
