Lucky Leprechaun is making a comeback at Microgaming casinos. The first title of the series launched in 2015, and now we’re getting a modern version, with Lucky Leprechaun Clusters. As the name implies, it’s a Cluster Pays release, with a much larger game area, but that improvement is not as visible when it comes to its graphics.
You’re getting 7x7 reels for the game area of Lucky Leprechaun Clusters, and the expected Cluster Pays system that allows you to claim big prizes. Up to 4,600x, the stake can be paid by the slot’s best wins, though this comes from a highly volatile release. The RTP is good though, at 96.31%. Among its features, you will discover the Trail O Fortune, Rolling Reels, and four types of modifiers which are tied into a collection mechanic.
Once you select your bet, you’re good to go. The spins will come with wagers as low as $0.10, but they can also go up, to as much as $50.
Up to $230,000 could be paid by Lucky Leprechaun Clusters, so in a best-case scenario, you could get your bet back at a 4,600x multiple. It’s a slot that pays fairly often, having a hit frequency of about 41% (1 in 2.5 spins is a winner, on average).
The downside is that the volatility of the game is high, and the rewards could’ve been even better since it’s riskier to play. Its RTP is at 96.31%, which is considered a good number.
It’s a large game area, with 49 symbols arranged on 7x7 reels. You’re asked to form clusters of matching symbols, and you need 5 or more to be grouped up, in order to claim a prize.
Once you’ve formed a cluster, you will notice that the Rolling Reels trigger. This removes the winning symbols, and as new symbols drop down to take their place, it could lead to more clusters and additional Rolls.
A collection mechanic is incorporated into the game. You collect all those winning symbols that were removed through Rolling Reels, and you can get access to various modifiers. At the end of the round, the meter resets, and you start over with your collection.
With all 125 winning symbols collected in a single round, Lucky Leprechaun Clusters triggers Trail O Fortune for you. You’re taken to a bonus game with a trail on which you want to advance, by using spins of a wheel. Up to 1,500x, the stake can be claimed through this feature if you get to the end.
For a slot machine, a theme that’s telling the story of the Leprechaun, a character from Irish stories, is far from uncommon. Once again, there are a lot of different Irish and luck-related images reserved for the slot’s symbols. The graphics could be better, I for one am not terribly impressed with their offer there.
Among its symbols, Lucky Leprechaun Clusters relies on Royals at first, four standard ones from J to A. We then get images of violins, pints of Guinness, pipes, and the Leprechaun himself.
Lucky Leprechaun Clusters might not be the type to deliver the most interesting features or graphics, but I have no doubt that there will be players looking to try it out. The Irish theme is also among the most popular ones.
