9 Masks of Fire is the second slot machine that is available on Microgaming’s casinos, as a result of their collaboration with Gameburger Studios, an independent developer which creates exclusive content for them. It’s a game which appears to draw inspiration from Africa’s culture and tribes.
They decided to use a setup with 5 reels & 20 lines for this slot machine. It’s going to rely on wilds, scatters, use a Jackpot Meter, take you through its free spins and make sure you’re going to take advantage of up to 3x multipliers. Its 2,000x top jackpot is higher than most coming from Microgaming, all while playing as a medium volatility game. RTP is also decent, at 96.24%.
For the full betting range that’s going to be used in 9 Masks of Fire, expect to have to spend at least $0.20, with the option to reach a maximum level of $60 per spin. This should allow for line bets of up to $3.
The game’s prizes look better than what I typically expect to find from Microgaming’s titles, with top rewards reaching a maximum of 2,000x total stake ($120,000). We found out that it’s going to have Medium volatility, so it’s not the riskiest slot around, and the RTP of 96.24% is telling us the same thing.
Wilds will be present in 9 Masks of Fire, as one of its more basic features, yet it will prove quite valuable to you in the long run. It works the same way as in other slots, increasing the odds of combinations forming. Its image is that of a Diamond, and the symbol is marked with the Wild logo at the bottom.
One of the game’s scatters will take the form of the Mask. This one you want to get as many times as possible, as the meter shown on the left side will pay you accordingly. Anywhere from 3 to 9 symbols will be needed, to get you the game’s rewards. This is either a regular-sized or stacked symbol. As for the rewards which may come your way with the Mask’s help, they range from 1x to 2,000x total stake, depending on the number of symbols triggering them.
The second scatter takes the form of a Shield with Spears. It’s a tribal symbol, and it will need to be present on the three middle reels, in order for the game to offer you access a wheel, which you spin to win 10 to 30 free spins. The multiplier for this feature will be at 2x or 3x, so wins should be worth a lot more as well. At the same time, the Fire 7 symbol can pay both on active lines and scattered.
The African theme is obvious, and it’s very well handled, in terms of design quality. I like the end result, with the symbols ranging from African diamonds, to the Mask of Fire, Shields With Spears, but also quite a few classics (several Fire 7s, cherries, Bar logos, Dollar Signs, Bells).
There is a classic side to the theme here, which I didn’t love, but I did enjoy the game’s design quality. It’s a modern slot machine, and it is easy enough to play on, even if you’re not a fan of the story that it’s telling.
9 Masks of Fire will give you several fun features, a tribal themed story and medium volatility to go along with its 2,000x jackpot.
