6 Tokens of Gold Slot Machine Review

6 Tokens of Gold might be a completely new slot game, but I doubt it will feel that way initially. Sporting a classic fruit theme and graphics that just barely manage to look decent, this is a joint release from All41Studios and Microgaming. You might’ve guessed that I’m not a big fan of classics, there is too much repetition in the theme and there isn’t any real story in there. On the other hand, such a game can still be good if it has the right features and potential, and I’d say that this one qualifies.

5 reels hold a total of 25 active lines in 6 Tokens of Gold. You are going after wins of up to 1,300x the stake, which tells us that the volatility is most likely going to be medium in this one. RTP is right, at 96.20%, while as its big features the game includes free spins with colossal symbols, respins, scatters and wilds.

Betting and Prizes

You can select the amount which triggers the next round, and that’s pretty much it. You are not required to play with the coin value or the number of coins which are going to be used. The range that is available goes from $0.10 to $100.

Given the right symbols on the reels, you can get paid up to 20x the stake by regular combinations on each line, with the potential for a single spin going to 500x. There are fixed jackpots of up to 1,000x the stake for the HyperHold Respins, and the most that you can get in a single paid spin/free spins is 1,300x the stake.

There is a certain balance, in the amount of risk taken vs the potential payouts possible, so it’s the type of game that all kinds of players could enjoy. RTP is properly sized as well, at 96.20%.

6 Tokens of Gold Game Features

The easy feature, the one which most games use, is the wild. Shown as a Diamond, it’s available as a replacement symbol, and in the long run quite a few extra winning combinations will be made possible with its help.

Next, we take a look at HyperHold Respins. This one is actually found under all sorts of names at other developers, including Hold and Win, and it’s a respin feature which appears to take pretty much the same form in every game. As the title indicates, you need 6 or more Gold coin scatters on the reels, to get the feature going. Otherwise, these Coins serve as blockers on the reels, since they don’t do anything when they’re in smaller numbers.

Once you trigger the HyperHold Respins, the initial 6+ coins are locked, and you’re trying to get more as you go through those rounds. 3 initial respins are offered, and the number resets whenever you get additional coins. All these coins that you’re accumulating, will have jackpots or multipliers mentioned on them, so they either give you a straight cash prize, or can bring one of the bigger fixed jackpots (up to 1,000x if you fill all 15 positions with coins).

There are free spins to be had as well, and those come via special scatters, which you need landing exactly three times (on the 1st, 3rd and 5th columns). It starts with 5 free spins, and the option to get 3 extra if you retrigger them.

For the entire duration of the free spins, reels 2-4 are going to get colossal regular symbols, which occupy 3x3 positions. Get the right symbols (regular or wilds) alongside, to form multiple winning combinations with ease.

Theme & Design

Now, when it comes to the slot’s theme, you’re looking at the same fruit pub inspired game that hundreds or thousands of other new online slots have been using. They might’ve worked a bit extra on them, and they do look somewhat modern, but plenty of other games have done the same or better, so I’m not impressed.

As symbols, you get the scatter, Gold Coins, a Diamond wild, along with the Lucky 7, Bar logo, Golden Bell, Lucky Horseshoe, Plum, Orange, Lemon and Cherries.

Conclusion

6 Tokens of Gold can do quite a bit for a player that likes the classic fruit theme, but wants some more modern features as well. It pays well enough that it will not be ignored, but I don’t see this one becoming a huge success based on the features it offers.
