Night of the Werewolf Slot Machine
A classic story of a man turned beast is being told in this new Merkur release, called Night of the Werewolf. The game doesn’t excel in any particular area, but that doesn’t make it a bad choice, and the RTP is still on the high side.
Expect to find 5 active lines on 5 reels in Night of the Werewolf, so the game doesn’t quite give you that many opportunities to win. Its best winning combinations can pay $10,000, so the highest potential of the game is $50,000 for a single round. Mixed wilds/scatters, along with free spins which have special symbols, will be the main features available inside.
Betting and Prizes
The button telling you the current bet amount is the one you need to click on, to open up the list of options that you can choose from. The smallest option is $0.05, the highest is $10, so that gives us a betting range of $0.01 to $2 per line.
One of the two symbols showing you the image of a human is responsible for the delivery of the game’s biggest reward. It’s going to pay 5,000x, so up to $10,000 can be won from a single combination that is formed.
The RTP will vary apparently, between 95.57% and 96.85%, depending on the special symbol that you select when you use the free spins.
Night of the Werewolf Slot Features
Don’t expect here the sort of slot machine that delivers a lot of cool features, though the ones we get do look interesting at least.
It’s only one symbol that will be used in all feature roles, so you get it both as a scatter and as a wild. You can have it part of regular combinations, since it’s a substitute, but get it three or more times on the reels and it will pay as much as 200x the bet while triggering free spins. The symbol in question, both wild and scatter, has the impressive Werewolf as its image.
10 free spins are activated by the presence of 3 to 5 Werewolves on the reels. Before the free spins begin, you have to pick one of the regular symbols shown on the reels at that time, to act as a special symbol during the feature. The symbol will gain the ability to expand on all three positions of the reels that it appears on, so filling up a screen with matching symbols is possible at this point. The downside is that only 5 lines are used in the game, so the wins don’t go higher than $50,000 for a single round. To retrigger free spins, you need another 3 or more Werewolves showing up at the same time.
Theme & Design
The werewolf theme is nowhere near as popular as the vampire one, but it’s got its dedicated slots, so this is by no means a unique proposition. It’s a well designed one though, with a scary image of a werewolf as a main feature trigger, while humans, crossbows and daggers make up the list of high symbols. The low ones are Royals, but made with a font that’s designed to look scary. Overall, it’s a decent looking game, but not an impressive one.
Night of the Werewolf will deliver its interesting theme via some decent graphics, right along with a better than average RTP and the chance to fill a screen with winning symbols.
