Leander Games has a new slot machine on offer, this time a game that was designed for their platform by Hungry Bear Games, a smaller studio. With a story that takes within the Egyptian pyramids, and with a beautiful female archaeologist (Dr Lovelle) in the main role, it doesn’t feel like a very original release. Some good things can certainly be said about The Tablet of Amun Ra slot, but there will be other elements that will drive players away. More on what those are, below.

Though the game’s potential is to pay up to $250,000 in a single spin, the regular combinations don’t seem capable of bringing you more than 500x the stake. The slot’s medium volatility could still work with that kind of low top payout, but ultimately I feel like players will not want to give this one a chance. That’s mostly due to the very low RTP, of only 94.86%,

That’s what we’re seeing here as well, and though the total bet is directly selected between $0.20 and $60, there are always 20 coins included. Line bets will then go from $0.01 to a maximum of $3.
Payouts might look good initially, especially as the slot mentions an upper ceiling for its jackpot of $250,000. With a maximum bet of $60, that’s the equivalent of a 4,166x jackpot. However, individual wins in this game don’t seem capable of delivering rewards higher than 500x the stake, so you need multiple free spins to get close to that ceiling.
Once you combine the slot’s Medium volatility, with a below-average Return to Player of 94.86%, you don’t get a lot of good reasons to give this one a try. It’s just too risky to play since on average it pays less than the vast majority of its competitors.
One of the major symbols in this game will rely on the image of Amun-Ra. This is both wild and scatter, a symbol that can form combinations with regular symbols, or can act as a substitute or feature trigger. It will not be a replacement for the jackpot symbol though.
With scatter wilds in view, 3 or more required, the slot triggers the Amun-Ra free spins. For as long as you have visible wilds on the reels, the free spins keep going. Thanks to the Sliding Wilds which are used here, it’s quite possible to have a fairly long run with this feature. Wilds show up and then slide towards the left by one position, for each round.
Drifting Symbols will require three symbols of the same type on reel 1. The symbols you see there will move over the reels, stopping on one or more reels from the remaining four. It increases the odds for that particular symbol to form combinations since it lands on all 20 lines.
Tablet Bonus is a randomly triggered feature. It gets Dr. Lauren Lovelle moving, while the reels spin and get several symbols of the same type. You get either wilds or regular symbols out of this, and it can even lead to the free spins triggering.
Theme-wise, it’s the same old Ancient Egypt-themed design that we’ve seen a lot of times already. It doesn’t have bad graphics, but it’s not one of the best games I’ve seen in this overcrowded category either. Symbols give us the image of Amun-Ra, Dr Lovelle, Eye of Ra, a Ram, a Red Gem, plus five top Royals. The action takes us to some kind of temple, and we have Dr. Lovelle next to the reels.
The Tablet of Amun Ra fails when it comes to being a fair slot machine, one that could pay enough to its players in the long run. With its RTP at a measly 94.86%, one can’t recommend it, even though there is an interesting list of features to be found there.
