Bandida is going to be a special release in more ways than one. Not only is this a slot machine which offers a female as the bandit in a Wild West setting, but it’s also featuring steampunk-style weaponry in the hands of the main characters. I quite enjoyed the graphics as well, so the game already feels like it’s got a lot to offer. The slot is made available by Leander Games.
Leander Games has offered Bandida as a slot which uses 5 reels and a total of 20 active lines. It will offer a progressive jackpot, along with its own fixed rewards of up to $20,000. Moving on to features, that’s where you will discover Bandida’s Way, Criminal Record, the Jailbreak Free Spins, along with the scatters and wilds which make them possible.
Betting and Prizes
Starting from the minimum level of $0.20, which will be enough to spin the reels with all lines active, the amount can be increased to a maximum of $40. The amount which will go into each active line will then vary between $0.01 and $2.
Now, moving on to rewards, there will be one which pays at 500x the line bet, and that’s the wild. It will pay at most $1,000 per combo, or $20,000 for a game area filled with wilds. The progressive jackpot helps out as well, and it appears to be the type that is guaranteed to trigger by the time it reaches a certain amount ($19,418 apparently), so it goes off fairly often.
As for the RTP, the total is at 96.01%, but this includes the progressive jackpot as well. The regular game has an RTP of only 93.01%, so the progressive jackpot comes with the rest of the 3%.
Bandida Slot Features
The Steampunk-style revolver is going to be a popular feature in Bandida. The symbol is the wild, and it may be used in the formation of all sorts of winning combinations. It simply needs to land in the right spot, and you may use it to create a new win for a regular set of symbols. It may not act as a replacement for a symbol which has an additional role, so it doesn’t help trigger features. A 500x reward is paid out for a combo of five wilds.
There are two stacked symbols appearing in the game, one with Bandida (400x) and the other with the Sheriff (300x). Both have their own chance of filling up the reels and getting you a screen full of wins.
Bandida’s Way is triggered by the Bandida icons covering reel 1. All top symbols are changed into Bandida icons for that round.
Criminal Record is an ongoing feature, as you advance in level while you play. You start as Rookie, but you collect Wanted signs and you improve in time. The stages are Rookie, Pickpocket, Robber and Most Wanted. You get access to features and multipliers.
Jailbreak Free Spins triggers with the Sheriff icons covering reel 5, while the Bandida’s Way feature is triggered. You win 10 free spins here.
Theme & Design
The mix of Wild West style objects and the Steampunk-like way in which some of them were designed works very well. I found the design of Bandida to be highly enjoyable. As for the actual symbols that you’re using, the list includes Bandida, the Sheriff, Revolver, Red Ruby, Gold Bars, Gold Coins and the Royals with gears included in their design.
I liked a lot of things about Bandida, and it certainly isn’t boring to play. Some of its features do seem a bit difficult to trigger, particularly the free spins.
