One of iSoftBet’s new slots, Neptune’s Fortune Megaways changes some things up, so it’s not quite the expected experience that you’re likely used to. It’s not unique either though, and while it has enjoyable graphics, there will be better ocean themed games available, for you to choose from.
Designed with the experienced players in mind, Neptune’s Fortune Megaways can give away payouts of up to 9,710x the stake, but at the same time its volatility will be high. It keeps the RTP at decent levels though, the figure announced being 96.03%. It’s a 6-reel slot machine, as you’d expect, but there are only 3 to 6 symbols for each one, so the number of Megaways is smaller, only up to 46,656. Major features are going to range from the cascading reels, to the Treasure Chests with multipliers, or the bonus game and free spins.
$0.20 is the lowest accepted wager, to get the 6 reels of Neptune’s Fortune Megaways to spin. At the other end, you will find a maximum bet of $20.
Regular combinations, paying as much as 40x on each line, will be improved with the help of the Treasure Chest multipliers, which could add up and give the payouts 20x boosts at best. Once you take the many ways to win into account, it will feel like the slot’s top jackpot of 9,710x is actually low.
The game does alright though, and the high volatility is not unbalanced, as the 96.03% RTP tells us.
The slot features 6 reels, each of them getting anywhere from 3 to 6 symbols. The number of symbols is random for each reel, and so the setup can have anywhere from 729 to 46,656 Megaways active. If you do form wins, via 3+ matching symbols which land left to right, then a cascade will trigger next. Winning symbols get removed, others come to replace them, and if there are additional combinations, then the cascades keep coming as well.
A big role will be given to the wild symbol, the one showing you the pearl. While typically this will be used only as a substitute, its appearance has an additional effect.
The reels which get wilds on t hem, will have a small chance that the Treasure Chest shown at the top will open up, to reveal a multiplier of up to 5x (possible on reels 1, 2, 5 and 6). The bigger Treasure Chest, which is found at the top of reels 3 and 4, will open up to give you access to a bonus game instead. As for the multipliers, they are combined, and could lead to 20x multipliers.
The feature that the 3rd chest triggers, is called Neptune’s Bonus. You make selections here, and you get prizes once you find three that match. The best possible reward is worth 1,000x the stake.
With help from Trident scatter symbols, which are required to land on 4 to 6 reels at the same time, you can win 10 to 15 free spins. What makes these special, is that the free spins play only with high value symbols, which makes it much easier to form valuable combinations.
Neptune’s Fortune Megaways features both treasures and the Roman god of the ocean, Neptune himself. The design is not very complicated, but for some reason I enjoyed it. It’s almost a retro look, and it reminds me of Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Of course, there is no connection to that book here. It’s relying heavily on dark blue colors, but it works out very well. Five treasure chests are visible at the top.
The game would’ve been a lot better if it didn’t use Royals as low value icons (10 to A), as those tend to occupy most positions. The better-looking symbols give us a Pearl Wild, a Trident scatter, along with high value positions with Neptune, Kraken, Turtles, Shells and Starfish.
Neptune’s Fortune Megaways provides the player with an interesting experience, and I enjoyed its design especially. You do get a different range for the number of potential ways to win, but you’re guaranteed at least 3 symbols per reel, while others give you 2 or more, so I’d say it all evens out. What I didn’t find as fun, was the difficulty in reaching the main features, as both the free spins and the bonus game tend to trigger only about once in every 300+ paid spins.
