Phoenix Fortune Slot
Phoenix Fortune is a game where Greentube tries to cover the Asian niche once again, this time relying on the Chinese legendary creatures, the ones you hear about in many of their stories. The Phoenix Bird is the star in this particular case, but you see some of the others as well.
The developers went for a standard game area, with 5x3 reels, and then added the Allpay system with its 243 ways to win, giving the player a lot of chances to get a decent reward each round. With payouts of over 2,900x the stake apparently possible, but also with Mid-High volatility, the game compensates by adding a couple of progressive jackpots to the mix. As for the features that they’ve added here, those include wild symbols with multipliers, scatters, along with free spins which use only high value symbols. The downside is going to be visible in the game’s RTP, since it’s expected to pay back only 95%.
Betting and Prizes
A downside of this game, is that it requires 50 coins for use on 243 ways to win, while a lot of other similar games will require only half that number. With coin denominations automatically changing from $0.01 to $1, the total amount that’s wagered goes from $0.50 to $50.
Now, prizes will have the highest value when you form a combo of five Lion symbols, paying 12x the stake for a full line covered. Should wilds assist, a 2x multiplier gets added, and the prize goes to 24x the stake. Without the wilds involved, the game seems capable of paying over 2,900x the stake, and with them it might go over 5,800x.
Two progressive jackpots and two fixed jackpots are included inside, in their own feature. The Grand Jackpot is the bigger one, but the Major option is not too bad either.
They announced it as a slot with medium-high volatility, and also with a 95% RTP. Since I expect this to include the progressive jackpot’s contribution, the game by itself doesn’t give enough back to be a solid option long-term.
Phoenix Fortune Slot Features
You have a couple of wild symbols in this game, taking the form of Phoenix medals colored in red or blue. The blue version of the wild is shown on the 2nd and 4th reels, while the red one shows up on reel 3. A 2x multiplier gets applied by the red Phoenix Medal, when the wild contributes to a win.
The wilds are also the ones helping you to reach the Jackpot bonus, when they both appear in view. It’s a picking feature, where you need to find three matching medals, to get their prize.
The scatters show up as Gong icons, three to five required on consecutive reels, left to right. This gets you 10 free spins, where all low value Royals get removed, so that only high value symbols remain to form combinations.
Theme & Design
The game offers an Eastern theme, which is hardly unusual these days. You can even locate other slots with the Phoenix theme out there, so that’s not unusual either. The graphics look typical for a game in this category, with gold and red being the predominant colors. The symbols of low value show us Royals, while the high value ones include Lions, Frogs, Fish, Dragons and Turtles. As feature triggers, you get the Medalions (red and blue versions) and a Gong.
Phoenix Fortune delivers decent sized payouts and the right volatility, while features contribute to make it an interesting option. What’s bad about it is the level of the RTP it comes with.
