Chili Quest Slot Review
|Betting Range (€/$)||0.25 - 25|
Offered by GameArt, Chili Quest has a Mexican theme and a lot of symbols which belong with such a story, but at the same time it surprises with the mix of features offered, and it doesn’t do badly where the top payouts are concerned either. More on that below though.
Chili Quest is played on 5x3 reels, where it offers 25 fixed lines each round. Top wins in the game will offer up to 500x total stake ($12,500) via regular combinations, or up to 1,000x via its fixed jackpots (Mega is the big one). Looking at the major features which the game introduces, the options listed start with the wild, then continue with scatters, Spicy Pepper symbols and their re-spins, free spins and gigantic symbols. There should be more than enough excitement, coming from all those features.
Betting and Prizes
In a game which requires the use of 25 coins, in order for 25 lines to be activated, the player is left with the option to decide on the bet per line, or coin value. You get a range of $0.01 to $1, and with it, the game lets you spend $0.25 to $25 per spin.
If you look at the rewards involved with Chili Quest, I’m not that sure you will be impressed with what you’re seeing. The game offers at most $500 for its best winning combo, so about 500x total stake ($12,500) is what you’d get if you filled the reels with those symbols.
You can do better if you use the Spicy Peppers Respins, since they deliver the game’s fixed jackpots. The best one is Mega, and it pays 1,000x total stake ($25,000). The other two are called Major (80x) and Mini (30x).
Another thing to note, is that the RTP is set to 96.15%, so the slot is designed to pay back about as much as the majority of today’s new slots.
Chili Quest Slot Features
The Wild Mariachi symbol is the usual substitute, which you can only use in connection to regular symbols, not as a replacement for feature triggers.
The Cactus Mariachi is the second major feature symbol, a scatter that you can get on three out of five reels. You need all three symbols, so that you can trigger 6 free spins. There are some improvements made to the free spins, mainly in the form of gigantic sized symbols showing up on the middle three columns. There is also one area where they’ve made things worse, and that is in the potential payouts, which only go up to 150x per spin now, so about 30% of the base game payout.
Thirdly, we have Spicy Pepper symbols, which need to appear at least 6 times in view, so that you can trigger their Respins. During respins, you try to land Jackpot symbols, but you might end up with regular cash prizes only, it’s all up to your luck.
Theme & Design
Theme wise, we’re looking at the usual Mexican themed design. It offers images that mix a Day of the Dead style skeleton, with singing cactus plants, beautiful women, donkeys with flower hats, pinatas and shots of tequila. It sounds like one hell of a party, and the symbols of higher value are well made and fun to play with. The lesser symbols, with the four top Royals, are not as good, though they do have an appropriate design for the theme.
Chili Quest is a fun new game from GameArt, but while it’s got some decent features to offer, at the right RTP value, the top payouts are not going to be huge motivators for players.
