Battle for Cosmos is a bit of a weird game, as far as theme goes at least, as a slot machine with fantasy and zodiac inspired creatures on its reels, with floating islands and temples in the background, and with a modern design. It’s also one of GameArt’s creations.
A game which offers 5 reels & 30 paylines, Battle for Cosmos also makes sure to deliver four types of transformations in the base game through a special wild, as well as four versions for the free spins. Though they designed it as a slot with higher volatility than most, it ends up doing a good job paying back its players, offering up to 6,000x the stake when it reaches its maximum potential. It is a game with high volatility though, make no mistake about it.
You pick the Bet Per Line, it’s an option that you select from the bottom area, and as you go from $0.01 to $5 per line, the amount wagered per spin changes from $0.30 to $150.
Now, looking at the game’s highest potential, you will find that there are very good returns to be had, of up to 6,000x the stake. It’s not the biggest jackpot around, these days slots can go a lot higher, but overall it’s one of your better options if you want a big payout.
The developer mentions that it’s got high volatility, meaning that while it is certainly capable of making some of its players very happy, a lot more will feel that it is quite risky to play.
The Wild Knight, as they call it, is a substitute that you can get to assist you while you’re playing the game. You get to use it in the formation of any type of combo, provided that the rest of the required symbols are also present. Only regular symbols can be replaced with wilds.
These special wilds come in four versions, each one with a different knight. Depending on the knight that you get, it will trigger an expansion in a different pattern. You can get them X-shaped, as a wild reel, in a 2x2 area, or on three horizontal positions. At most, you can get four of these Wild Knights on the reels, in a single spin.
On the other hand, there is also the scatter, a symbol which shows you the image of a Goddess of Cosmos. Landing on all five reels, but required to show up only on three or more, she both triggers a prize and gives you access to one of the four versions of free spins.
The four types of free spins are associated with the Wild Knights. One of them has 7 free spins with Collecting Wilds, another 9 spins with Walking Wilds, 12 free spins with Expanding Wilds, or 15 free spins with Connecting Wilds.
There is a certain Asian influence in the game’s design, and you can see it in the Anime-style design, but also in the main characters, with knights and goddesses from the Chinese legends present on the reels. Additional symbols take the form of zodiac signs with a Pegasus, dragons and birds, or with the four card suit designs. It’s a good design overall, even though it’s not quite standard looking. That might just be a plus for it.
Battle for Cosmos is a decent looking new slot game, with excellent potential and high volatility, which adds multiple cool features to make the action interesting for those willing to take it on.
