Dragon Hot is a very unusual new release from EGT, being a slot machine that features two sets of reels, a regular and a colossal one. Despite the supposed dragon theme that is advertised and shown in the background, you will notice on the reels only classic symbols.
Dragon Hot’s going to have multiple arguments why it should be your next slot machine. If the 20 fixed lines on the two sets of reels aren’t enough, then you might be moved by the progressive jackpots which the slot advertises at the top, or by the fixed payouts of up to $60,000 which the regular combinations will bring you. As the major features, Dragon Hot has wilds, scatters and a special Wild Feature.
A bet in Dragon Hot is set for 20 fixed lines, and because of that it will use wagers that use multiples of that number. The bets inside will be set to 20, 40, 100, 200 or 400 coins. Each of these values is placed in a different Spin button, so when you set your wager, you also trigger the spin.
Moving on to the top prize, you can win 3,000x your line bet, which for this game would mean that a jackpot of $60,000 is a possibility. The usual four progressive jackpots are also available, as they are in most slots coming from EGT.
The really unusual part about Dragon Hot is the way it uses its two sets of reels, one with 5x3 positions, the other one with 5x9, being split into three smaller areas with the help of borders. A total of 20 fixed lines are used on them, 5 for the former and 15 for the latter section.
The Wild Feature is the only one that makes use of both sets of reels. Having a wild symbol appear on the main set of reels, can result in the transfer of the wilds of that round to the other three sets as well. This happens if the wild can be used on the other reel positions to improve on at least one winning combo.
Going back to the regular features, we have on the middle three reels a Clover Wild, which is usable as a replacement, nothing else. It also doesn’t do anything when the scatters need its help.
The first of two scatters, the Dollar Sign will be used as a prize trigger, the number of symbols on the reels deciding how much you get, the most offered being 500x the line bet.
The second scatter has the look of a Purple Star, and it’s usable only on three out of the five reels (1, 3 and 5). Getting all three, results in a prize of up to 100x the line bet.
Dragon Hot, though it has that dragon theme mentioned, it doesn’t actually appear to use it on the reels of the slot. You have a castle in the background image, complete with tiny dragons shown at the top of the reels, but when you check out the slot’s images you will get instead clovers, purple stars, dollar signs, red 7s, grapes, watermelon, bells, cherries, lemons, plums and oranges. These are all symbols that have a place in slots with classic inspiration, which Dragon Hot is not supposed to be.
Dragon Hot has a couple of cool features, which could be enough to get the attention of some players, but the design that’s been implemented in it doesn’t have the dragons that we’ve been promised.
