Blueprint Gaming is using an interesting new system for Sweet As Candy: Prize Lines. The Prize Lines will allow you to play through 5 spins, before deciding whether you want to collect your winnings or try to get something even better. Of course, the candy themed design will be quite colorful, but that’s the standard for this particular type of game.
It’s a game with 5x5 reels and 12 active lines. It’s played through the new Prize Lines system, while other features of theirs include the Candy Cash Spins and the Spin-Crease Chance. 2,500x the stake, which would mean $250,000 cash at most, is the top prize mentioned in Sweet As Candy. Though only a Medium when it comes to its volatility, the slot is also going to have a very low RTP, only 95.03%, so it’s not a great deal.
It’s not your typical new slot game, that’s for sure. The main features you see below, and they provide you with a different experience than most games.
You are going to play with groups of 5 spins that you go through. As you do so, you attempt to fill the grid with symbols and get lines covered with matching symbols. The more lines that are full at the end, the better the rewards that you can get. You don’t win anything for the initial 4 lines which are covered, but from 5 lines upwards, you can get 1 to 5x the stake, and up to 10 free spins.
A Detonator, colored in white and red, will sometimes add up to 3 sweets in different locations around the game area.
Spin-Crease Chance is the name of the choice that you get at the end of the 5 initial rounds. You can collect your winnings then, or you can risk them by trying to get more Prize Lines completed. If you choose the latter, you pay again, but you don’t start from scratch.
Getting to the free spins is possible if you form at least 8 winning combinations during a block of 5 spins. You get 1 to 10 free spins (for all lines covered).
Candy Cash Spins will allow you to collect the Cash symbols which appear, over the course of 3 spins. The counter resets back to the original 3 spins when that happens. At this point, you can also get Chocolate Bombs, which will allow you to make a pick and get one of the three cashpots (Gold, Silver or Bronze). This is the feature which can pay 2,500x the stake.
The typical candy-themed look is used for the game’s background and for its symbols. There are mountains and hills made out of sweets in the background, while the 5x5 reels provide you with a mix of similar icons. The symbols will either give you worthless positions, or candy. To the right side, you see a paytable with the number of full lines required to get prizes and free spins.
Sweet As Candy does a good job at giving you a different experience, and the Prize Lines system can work as well. Ultimately though, you’re looking at the free spins to deliver the bigger wins, as the most you can get from a regular round is 5x the stake.
