Blueprint Gaming is working on a new slot game. Bison Bonanza is its name, and it will feature the usual collection of bonuses and modifiers from such games, making it a fairly high volatility option, though without going to any extremes. There are some cool things inside as well, especially how it gets you paid.
Bison Bonanza will propose a system with 6x5 reels, where Scatter Pays are used to bring you winning combinations. It can pay well, as much as 10,000x the round’s stake, and it also has medium-high volatility, while its RTP could reach 96.50%. Besides the unusual Scatter Pays system, you’re also getting cascading reels, scatters, and free spins that have up to 500x multipliers.
It doesn’t have to be that expensive, you spin the reels with a bet of just $0.20, but you could also spend up to $10.
Another way to play is by using Bonus Buys of 100x the stake, where you can get up to 20 free spins and up to 500x multipliers (Bison Wheel or direct access to the free spins).
Bison Bonanza can pay reasonably well, especially if we consider the medium-high volatility rating that’s been mentioned in its case. 10,000x the stake is a good return for such a slot, and the RTP of 96.50% confirms our good first impression.
One of the rarest things about Bison Bonanza is the fact that it uses a Scatter Pays system. Rather than require that you have matching symbols in predetermined positions, or on certain reels, it just asks that you have 8+ matching symbols, somewhere in the 30 positions available (6x5 reels). These can be scattered, but you do need that minimum number of symbols, to claim a win.
Following the formation of one of these scattered combinations, the cascades trigger, removing the symbols involved in the win. Others will drop drown, and occupy any available positions. You can form new combinations this way, and this would trigger more cascades.
The main feature takes the form of free spins, activated by the appearance of 4 to 6 bonus symbols. There are four options that you get to pick from:
In this mode, the multiplier doesn’t act as a wild, just as a boost to all wins formed that round. You add up the values on all multiplier symbols, and then the result is applied to the wins you obtained through the Scatter Pays engine.
The Bison is a popular choice for developers that are working on slot machines about North America’s wildlife and the prairie. We see the Bison in the main role in this case, along with others that have images of the Lynx, Eagle, or Wolf. The lower symbols are not that fun to look at, just the four card suits coming in just as many colors. A bonus symbol, with the Bison Coin, will be present as well.
I didn’t find Bison Bonanza the most well-designed slot around, but I did enjoy its unusual features, which make it an interesting option for a lot of players that are bored with the usual releases.
