Lava Gold Slot Review & Free Demo Game

Lava Gold Slot Machine Review

Lava Gold is a future release from Betsoft, and a slot machine that will take us back in time. Not unusual at all for such a game, but that doesn’t mean it’s not going to be fun. It’s dinosaur themed, and it introduces us to those majestic creatures of the past and shows us the moment when it all went sideways for them. A huge volcano eruption is involved, and it’s likely the one that leads to their extinction.

5x5 reels come with a big enough area to play in, and Lava Gold provides us with a Cluster Pays system, so that we can go after its top rewards. Those are not big rewards though, there is a max return of only 161x the stake per spin, though this is with a 96.02% RTP. They also added cascading reels, free spins with increasing multipliers, as well as Volcanic Wilds.

Betting and Prizes

Betting will start from just $0.25 per spin, and may even go as high as $25 per spin. That gives us 25 coins to work with, where only their denomination changes.

A winning cluster that fills the entire screen will pay up to 12x the stake, but you get cascading reels and multipliers during free spins, so the potential is for more. 161X the stake is the promise made, but that’s still quite low for a slot machine. Volatility is likely to be very low as well, which can be a plus for casual players, while the RTP is set to 96.02%.

Lava Gold Game Features

In order to get paid in the Lava Gold slot, you need clusters of matching symbols to appear and connect horizontally or vertically. A minimum of 5 matching symbols are needed, and as many as 25 can be in a cluster and get you paid.

Once you form your cluster, there is a cascading reels mechanic which follows and allows waves of new symbols to come and replace the ones that were removed. This can lead to new winning clusters forming, and it could go on for quite some time.

Volcano symbols are the ones landing on the reels and being used as substitutes. These can take over for any other symbols, provided that they are connected with the rest of the symbols so that they can form a cluster together.

It’s not that easy getting to the free spins. You need to create a cluster with every single type of symbol that’s available and progress through a Bonus Meter, which is visible on the right side. As you unlock each type of symbol, you progress, and once the meter is full, you get 10 free spins.

This is the part of the game where the potential seems highest. It’s got a 3^rd reel which will be filled with 5 matching symbols, so there is always a cluster ready to be formed there. There is also an increasing multiplier, going up by 1x, with the potential to reach 10x.

Theme & Design

You are looking at a slot machine with a fairly big game area, which incorporates 5x5 reels. You’re looking at the final days of the dinosaurs, as it is said that following a volcano eruption that covered the sky with ash, the big creatures went extinct. We’re seeing a jungle-themed design for the surrounding image, with a major volcano eruption in progress further away.

For its symbols, this slot has images of Volcanoes, T-Rex, Pterodactyl, Dinosaur’s feet, Eggs, Flowers, as well as stone-made Royals from 10 to A.

Conclusion

All in all, Lava Gold certainly looks promising on paper, but those jackpots of up to 161x are terribly disappointing, especially when you get up to 10x multipliers from the free spins. Everything else about it looks good though, it’s a decent pick for any casual player.
