Jumbo Joker is a new game from Betsoft, and at the same time it’s a title that feels quite unusual for them. It’s not only a 3 reel game, it’s also one that uses a classic theme, which Betsoft isn’t really known for. They’re better known for launching gorgeous cinematic-style online slots on the market, but they seem to have decided to diversify a bit lately.
In Jumbo Joker you’re going to play on a 3 reel setup with 5 active lines. Depending on the kind of wager you’re placing, and on the level of the game that you reach, you can win up to $2,000 from a single combination. The game’s Jumbo Meter rounds seem to be the only real features that you can use, but you pay for those.
Jumbo Joker Betting and Prizes
The bets that you can select will use 1 or 10 coins, with no options in-between. The value of those coins will vary between $0.01 and $1, and so the regular betting range will go from $0.01 to $10. There are additional options, to wager, 20, 40, 100 or 200 coins, but to reach those you will need to get winning combinations at different levels and end up on the Jumbo Meter.
The best rewards are offered when you get to wager 10 or more coins. You can receive up to 2,000 coins by forming a combination of three Jokers or three Treasure Chests, which could mean $2,000 for you. Combinations on the Jumbo set of reels will offer payouts through Red 7s instead of Treasure Chests.
Jumbo Joker Game Features
The game doesn’t use a typical classic layout, at least not when you take into account that it has two sets of 3 reels each. 5 active lines are set for those two sets of reels. You typically play on the bottom set, trying to form a combination. When that combination is formed, you can use the money to finance a number of Jumbo Meter Spins on the top set of reels, at higher bets, or you can collect the money. The advantage of the top set of reels is that the rewards can be a lot better, even taking into account the extra amount that is wagered. For example, in exchange for a combination of three Golden Bells, the bottom set will pay 200 coins when using a 10-coin wager, while the set at the top pays 1,200 coins in exchange for 40 coins. That means a 6x increase in payout, while the bet increases at 4x.
There are multiple possible wager values to use, depending on the bet value that you started with. You can wager 1 coin, and then move to 20 and 100 coin wagers on the Jumbo Meter. Alternatively, you can use 10 coins in the base game, after which the Jumbo Meter spins will be at 40 and 200 coins. A maximum of 15 spins can be activated on the Jumbo Meter.
Theme & Design
The theme is a classic one, as you can see yourself when you check out the symbols. The graphics quality is very good and it doesn’t look like in a regular 3 reel title. It helps that it has two sets of reels showing, with different paytable sections on both sides. Among the symbols, Betsoft introduces the Joker, treasure chests, golden bells, watermelon, lemons, and cherries. Jumbo Meter Spins will remove treasure chests and will add red 7s, grapes, and oranges to the list.
Conclusion
It’s a good game overall, a classic slot machine that plays a little bit differently and which actually has a decent design. It’s not the type of game that most Betsoft players expect to find in their collection though.
