Expansion Slot Review & Free Demo Game

Expansion Slot Machine Review

Expansion is an upcoming release from Betsoft Gaming and one of many slot machines that deal with the topic of invading aliens. Coming from this developer, I’m certain that the graphics and features involved will do the topic justice and will allow the slot to stand out alongside all the other competitors with a similar story.

Sporting 5x4 reels, the game area has 30 paylines active at all times. Wins of up to 2,171x the stake are promised, and the RTP could go as high as 96.08%. The features that you can expect to find inside go from stacked mystery symbols to directional wilds and free spins with random multipliers.

Betting and Prizes

Spending at least $0.60 per spin will be enough to get the reels spinning, though that seems a tad high compared to what other slots are using. Up to $30 can be selected for each spin.

The rewards aren’t that impressive, with a top jackpot capped at 2,171x the bet. Volatility is medium, though, so for that kind of risk, the payout seems OK. There are several RTP values available, and the one you’d want to see the operator use is 96.08%.

Expansion Game Features

The Expansion has several cool features that players get to explore. One of them is going to take the form of stacked mystery symbols that can land on all reels. All these mystery positions are going to be replaced with a single random symbol, a regular one of low or high value.

There is a wild symbol as well, but it’s a special version. The directional wild will act as a replacement symbol, the same as every other wild, but it will also fire in a random direction (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal). The path of the ray gun gets covered by new wilds. The initial wilds can land on the middle three reels.

As for the scatter, the one marked as such, and with a red planet behind it, it needs to land 3 to 5 times so that you can claim 8 to 15 free spins. Their advantage is that the directional wilds now expand in two random directions. There is also a random multiplier chosen for each spin, ranging from 2x to 10x, boosting prizes accordingly. It’s possible to retrigger this feature.

Theme & Design

It’s an interesting slot machine with alien and outer space-inspired graphics, but the action takes place on our planet. Besides its bottom-paying Royals, five of them, there are images of four planets and of a star. Several feature symbols are also going to show up.

Conclusion

Overall, you can expect a pretty good set of special features and unique gameplay, something that isn’t always available, even in modern free slots.
