The Ainsworth collection already had a slot called Twice The Money, and now they also have Twice The Gold, so it looks like it’s the beginnings of a series for the company. They’re offering quite a few good features in this new slot machine, along with rather average graphics, especially since the theme is not that special.
Ainsworth’s Twice The Gold delivers 5 reels, with a common choice of lines, 25 being available in total. The game will have a rather disappointing RTP, of 93.99%, along with Medium volatility. You can expect some excellent features though, such as scatter symbols, free spins with increasing multipliers, sticky wilds, or both.
The wagers in Twice The Gold should be even as low as $0.25 for a single spin, which would allow players to rely on the minimum bet of $0.01 on each line. The typical way this works is that you can also choose a much higher wager, but once again you will be required to have all the lines covered.
On the prize front, things aren’t looking that great. The RTP that’s been announced is at a measly 93.99%, and I’d want at least 96% to consider it a decent slot machine. Granted, this only tells you how much you can win long-term, but still. Payout-wise, it’s looking pretty good, especially since sticky wilds and increasing multipliers are part of the offer once you reach the free spins. Chances are that the regular spins will not pay that much though, so once again we’re relying on features to provide us with serious winnings.
Another thing to note here is that the developer announced Medium volatility for this slot. You’re not going to get bored waiting for the next win, but it will not be quite life-changing either. A balance is reached, between the frequency of wins and prize values.
I’ve enjoyed what I’ve seen so far about the features of Twice The Gold. The slot has wilds, multipliers, and free spins, all of them exciting to take advantage of.
Wild symbols, when they do appear, will be available in the role of the substitute, so they will be of help if they also land in the right spot. You can only form a new combo with them if they land on the line where that new win forms.
The scatters are the ones for which you’re probably going to get a lot more excited though. Three will be required at a minimum, in order to get you access to a feature. There are three choices here, and you get the one that you prefer.
Twice The Diamonds: this feature will give you 10 spins for free, where wilds are sticky on reels 2 and 4, while multipliers increase.
Twice The Gems: once again, there are 10 free spins, while as features you get the sticky wilds on the 2nd and 4th reels, along with the chance to retrigger the feature.
Twice The Money: for the 10 free spins delivered with this option, you get the Extra Money feature, sticky wilds on reels 2 and 4, plus increasing multipliers.
It’s a design that’s mostly inspired by gold, in all its forms. You’re getting bars of gold, gold rings, bags with gold coins, gold nuggets, gold dollar signs, and even safe doors which are made out of it. As a bit of a downside, the game relies on standard Royals for low positions, so they’re not made to fit the theme in any way. It’s not a great-looking game, I’d say average at best.
Twice The Gold has some exciting free spins to give you, but the RTP is quite low otherwise and the graphics are boring.
