Wolf Hunters Slot Machine Review

Wolf Hunters is one of the dozen or so slot machines that Yggdrasil Gaming is releasing in 2018, programmed to be the title from September right now. The game has a werewolf hunting theme, and it will sport the awesome graphics that this developer has always given us.

This Yggdrasil Gaming slot will feature 5 reels and 3 rows of symbols, organized on 20 pay lines. You will get symbols which pay high and can be transformed into sticky wilds, along with respins, scatters and free spins.

Betting and Prizes

It should be a slot machine with fixed lines, as are most that come via Yggdrasil Gaming. The wagers would typically start at $0.20 and will go up to $100 in most games they offer, so the line bet will most likely reach $5.

The games from this developer aren’t exactly known for offering huge rewards, but I do expect for the RTP to be at a very good level, probably at 96%, same as all the others from them. It’s the features that will make the difference here, as you will find out from our review.

Wolf Hunters Game Features

The game has multiple features, and some are quite interesting. First, there is a Werewolf that is usually a high paying symbol that you get on all the reels. Whenever it lands, you will have a hunter try to attack it. If he registers a hit, it will turn the Werewolf into a locked wild, with one respin coming after that. The successful hits on the Werewolf will make him lose hit points (1 point each time). When he gets to 0 out of 600 hit points, you will get the free spins to trigger.

As for the hunters, if they hit the werewolf they gain 1 rage point. Once a hunter has 100 points, he triggers his own Rage Free Spins. The first time you load up the game the hunter will get a random number of rage points for free.

You will get wilds both in the regular and the free spins. Whenever you get a wild, there will also be a respin triggered with the wilds being sticky.

As you might’ve figured out already, there are several types of free spins in the game, three types in fact.

First, you can get them via scatter symbols, appearing twice on the reels. You get 10 free spins this way.

Another one is through Rage points that the hunters are collecting. You get 7 Rage free games when the hunter reaches 100 points. That hunter is upgraded for the entire feature.

Finally, you can have 10 Slayer Free Games if you manage to reduce the health bar of the Werewolf to 0. Werewolves are replaced with the wilds during this feature.

All modes with free spins allow you to collect Free Spin icons. Getting 3 Hunters will upgrade your Hunter symbol and will trigger 2 additional free spins. After the upgrade, the Hunter will hit Werewolves and will turn them into expanding wilds. This also happens if you upgrade the Huntress.

Theme & Design

It’s not a game that you’d have trouble figuring out, the action is easy enough as far as the theme goes. You get a hunter and a huntress, both going after werewolves. There are these three symbols, a Wild logo, four card suits that are very nicely designed, plus images of silver bullets, some kind of poison and a bear trap.
