Wild Mantra is one of the few games that I’ve seen inspired by the Buddhist religion, and it works well as a slot machine, particularly when it has a design as good as what Yggdrasil Gaming has created here. It’s not the type of game with huge potential that has been popular lately, but it does look good, and that might be enough to make it fun for a lot of players.
A game with a fairly large game area, 5x4 reels spinning each round, it will have 25 paylines to offer. Through those lines, rewards of up to 1,000x the stake could be paid out, meaning that $125,000 is the highest reward that the slot can deliver in one round. As far as features are concerned, they range from stacked wilds, to Mantra Respins and Free Spins which get sticky wilds. RTP is 96.30%.
You will be able to pick the coin value, but not the number of lines which are active. The range of a wager will then vary between $0.25 and $125, at the same time changing the line bet from $0.01 to $5.
If you like going after big jackpots, and I imagine most players are finding those kinds of rewards enjoyable, then Wild Mantra doesn’t stand out these days. It pays at most 1,000x the stake, which does end up meaning up to $125,000, thanks to the bet values available.
The gameplay can be described as having Medium volatility, so you’re not going to wait forever to get a decent win, but it’s not going to be a huge amount that you’re being offered either.
With the RTP set to 96.3%, I declare myself satisfied with the amount that the game returns to the player, on average. It’s a long-term figure, doesn’t mean anything to any individual player, but it’s still important for the slot not to have smaller odds of paying than other modern competitors.
Stacked wild symbols are present inside, and they are among the better ones you can get to land. They are useful in several ways, starting with their usual role of substitutes which could bring the player winning combinations.
Mantra Respins are triggered whenever wild symbols appear on the reels. They become sticky, along with their reel, and the other columns respin. If more wilds show up, then the sticky wilds are going to nudge and occupy one more position on the reel. The respins continue for as long as you keep getting additional wilds.
The usual free spins are available as well, and the scatters are once again responsible for triggering them, by appearing 3, 4 or 5 times. There are also rewards of up to 1,000x the stake paid out by the scatters, before the free spins even start. The game gives you 10 free spins here, with wilds from the triggering spin being present in the feature as well, as sticky positions.
With an Asian religion for inspiration, Wild Mantra adds five scrolls to the game area, to serve as the reels. You have images of different symbols there, including card suits, but also decorations of Asian origin. The reels are placed within a stone temple-like structure, with bells hanging from the sides. As with all Yggdrasil slots, it looks very good.
Wild Mantra is coming with a good RTP and excellent graphics, but I’m not too happy about the 1,000x payouts. Fans of slots with Medium volatility will find it enjoyable though.
