Johnan Legendarian Slot Machine Review

Johnan Legendarian is a story that takes us across the ages, back to the times when a barbarian called Johnan used to live. His heroic feats, and his battles against the mythical creatures which lived in those early times, are described in this new slot game, a joint release from Peter & Sons and Yggdrasil Gaming. While it doesn’t look like it, this is a game that borrows from the Book of Ra genre, a category where we’ve seen a lot of clones already, but this one appears to do some things differently.

You will find a common setup for such a game, where 5 reels are hosting 10 active lines. The rewards are the expected ones, going up to 5,000x the stake while keeping the RTP at 96.03% and the volatility high. Major features will involve the mixed/scatter icons, along with free spins which have expanding symbols, but also with a Super Free Spins mode.

Betting and Prizes

While selecting the bet for each line, from $0.01 to $5, you’re also modifying the total bet. The range for it is between $0.10 to $50, which should make it easily accessible to all budgets.

Theme & Design

I appreciated the presence of an interesting theme and of a superb design in Johnan Legendarian. It’s a combination that you don’t see often in Book-style slots, where the Ancient Egypt angle is usually preferred. The design quality alone makes it a game that stands out in the category, and I’d easily put it on par with what Yggdrasil is usually launching (this is a partner game though, from Peter & Sons).

In the case of its symbols, we find on the reels the mixed wild/scatter with the Scarecrow, along with icons which show us two other beasts (rhino and bull), a sword and bow with arrow. The five lesser symbols have the 10 to A Royals on them.

Conclusion

Johnan Legendarian slot might follow in the footsteps of Book of Ra, and that’s not typically considered innovative, but they’ve made some changes and turned this into a slot of their own. What I didn’t like, is the resetting of the free spins, rather than the addition of more rounds, as it has the potential to be annoying. On the other hand, I think you will love the graphics, and appreciate the change of theme.
