Gods of Secrecy is another take on the old Ancient Egypt theme, only this time it’s coming from Stakelogic, and it appears to have a bit of a twist if we go by its title. Excellent graphics are typical for slots that this developer is making, and in this particular case it’s a high volatility option, fit for a veteran player that knows what kind of risks he’s taking.

5x3 reels and 10 active lines make up the game area in Gods of Secrecy, and the slot machine feels a bit like a classic thanks to that. It will include a Super Stake option, while as features it has a bonus called Pyramids of Secrets, mixed wild/scatters, along with free spins which have expanding symbols. Very volatile, the slot has a 96.36% RTP, but at the same time it can pay over 10,000x the stake for a single spin (capped at 451,543.50).

Betting and Prizes

$0.10 is the smallest wager that you can typically found in slot machines, so Gods of Secrecy makes it easy for you to get started. The list of bet values is long though, and the 24 different options will take you as high as $45 per spin.

Super Stake is an option that you can use, which will give the betting range a boost, from $0.20 to $90, without adding to the prize value. Instead, it adds random features that may only trigger during paid spins. It can give you access to 10 free spins, and it will do this during random losing rounds.

There are above average jackpots that could be paid, over 10,000x the stake even, or up to $451,543.50 cash. In terms of volatility, it’s been described as a 5 out of 5, which means that it’s highly volatile. RTP is good though, at the 96.36% we’ve seen mentioned for it.

Gods of Secrecy Slot Features

One of the major features that are implemented in Gods of Secrecy, the wild/scatter symbol is available on the reels as a pyramid-shaped statue, and it can play a couple of different roles. One of them is going to be that of a substitute, so you can get it alongside regular symbols, and will form combinations with them.

Another is the role of the scatter, meaning that with 3 or more symbols of this type landing in view, the game will trigger 10 free spins. It’s a feature with expanding symbols, chosen at random from the regular ones which will land in view. It can be retriggered, if you manage to land another set of 3+ wild/scatters at the same time.

As for the expanding symbol available inside, it is selected randomly, and it only pays if it forms regular combinations on all lines. In other Book-style games, we’ve found that same symbol paying as a scatter, so that’s one downside with the way Stakelogic designed their own version.

Pyramids of Secrets is a bonus game with respins, which requires that you land at least 6 Pyramid scatters (the ones with the eye on the side). It’s not that easy, and since these do tend to appear fairly often, they can act as blockers for regular combinations.

Once triggered, the 3 respins that you start with will keep the initial Pyramids sticky, while you’re trying to get more. You reset the respins back to 3, whenever new Pyramids land. At the end of the feature, depending on the number of Pyramids and their type, you can have regular or fixed jackpots triggered. Each Pyramid has its own prize to give you, but the aim is to land the Mega Pyramid.

Theme & Design

If it’s a Book of Ra-inspired online slot, then chances are that it’s going to be Ancient Egypt themed. Gods of Secrecy doesn’t disappoint there, or it does, depending on how much of a fan you are of this particular type of design influence. Theme choice aside, I think you will appreciate the quality of the design, it does look like a modern game.

The Pyramids are shown on the reels, as wilds and scatters, while the regular symbols give us images of priests, Anubis, Horus and Bastet. Once we get to the lowest value symbols, we still end up looking at Royals (10 to A).

Conclusion

Gods of Secrecy doesn’t quite do enough to make itself interesting, though that 10,000x jackpot might sway a few players to try it out anyway. I feel like the expanding symbols are not as powerful as in other slots of this type, since they will not pay anywhere, they need to form regular combinations.
