Ten Suns is a game that’s being modeled after Ancient China, appearing to tell a story that involves characters from the country’s legends and its dangerous creatures. It’s one of the many slots with a China connection, but this time we’re getting Rival Gaming’s version of one.
For the 5 reels of Ten Suns, the developer reserved a total of 25 fixed bet lines. The ultimate reward for a game like this appears to be worth $2,500. An interesting expanding wild is present among the features, along with scatters, free spins, drop icons and a bonus game of the pick and click variety.
Betting and Prizes
The player may decide what the bet should be for the 25 lines, but they’re all going to be covered. With the line bet using 1 to 10 coins, while denominations go from $0.01 to $0.25, the slot’s complete range is between $0.25 and $62.50.
The game appears to offer its best reward via the Frog symbol, a regular icon that will pay up to 1,000x. This would mean 10,000 coins at most, while their value can reach $2,500. I’m satisfied with the 96.20% average RTP of the slot.
Ten Suns Slot Features
I’ve enjoyed most of the features that were introduced in Ten Suns, but the directionally expanding wilds are especially cool. The wild symbol sports the image of an archer, which when appearing will shoot an arrow in one of the four directions (down or up, left or right). The direction in which he shot his arrow will get additional wilds, since it will expand that way. You only get these wilds on the three middle reels. The wilds are going to be used to replace other symbols, which is their standard ability in most slots.
A Treasure Chest Pick n Click bonus game may be activated as well, provided that the required three or more Treasure Chest symbols are scattered on the screen. The base game is the only time when these symbols are available. You can even trigger the bonus round if the required symbols are covered by an expanding wild. You will have to pick a treasure chest at this point, to win the prize that is hidden inside.
The final piece of the puzzle is the feature with free spins, Provided that you got 3, 4 or 5 Dragon symbols on the screen, the game will deliver 5, 7 or 10 free spins, respectively. For the duration of the free spins, low paying icons are going to be removed from the reels. You not only get fewer symbols, making the winning combinations easier to form, but they’re going to pay only high amounts. The remaining symbols are also going to be drop icons, so by forming a combo they get removed from the reels and during the same spin you get a chance at another win.
Theme & Design
Ten Suns has a design that tries to show off the charm of Ancient China. The image from the background appears to show a temple and some gorgeous cherry blossom filled trees all around. As symbols, there are dragons, archers, gold frogs, a Phoenix bird, treasure chests, lotus flowers, gold coins, the Emperor and a princess.
Ten Suns has the Medieval style going for it, and I enjoyed the features available as well. There are a lot of China themed slots out there though, so it has plenty of competition.
