Batman Begins, a Playtech branded slot, is based on the 2005 film that uses the same name, and it tells the story of a young Batman, as he starts to fight evil in Gotham City, after receiving training from his mentor.
We’re getting a slot with a layout that is found in a lot of other titles, using 5 reels & 20 active lines. You can get the DC progressive jackpots from it, but you also have the game’s own rewards, of up to $10,000. The feature list is a long one, including multiple types of wilds, different stages to go through, respins, multipliers and so on.
Betting and Prizes
In a game that uses 20 coins each round, selected to cover 20 active lines, the only thing that seems to change is the coin value. You have it set up between $0.01 and $10, and in exchange the total bet will be modified in its own range, of $0.20 to $200.
Regular wins offered in this slot will get to 1,000 coins, translating into cash rewards of up to $10,000. Certain wild multipliers of the game could go up to 50x though, so it’s entirely possible to win a $500,000 fixed jackpot from this slot. You’re looking at a 95.11% average RTP, which is lower than the average of most new games.
The four DC progressive jackpots are offered as well, as they are in any slot machine that’s using a theme based on one of their comic books.
Batman Begins Slot Features
One of the really big features of this game is based on the way that you are transported from one game mode to the next. There are 5 locations that you travel to in total, and to get from one to the next you need to fill up a meter. The meter gets one bar filled for each symbol of the right type that lands in the hotspot location.
The Temple is a level where you get Flower Wilds as the main feature, symbols that expand in a diagonal and turn other positions into wilds as well.
Wayne Manor will be another level, and here you get to take advantage of Petrol Wilds, which are capable of replacing all other symbols. They also turn other symbols on their reels into wilds.
The Batcave will use Batmobile Wilds that substitute for all symbols and which trigger respins, while moving to the left after each round.
Arkham Asylum uses the Bat-Signal for its main feature, and it will turn other symbols into wilds, choosing its targets at random. Multipliers of up to 50x can also be assigned to these wilds.
The Monorail uses a Microwave Wild, where the highest paying symbol found next to it will be chosen, after which random locations are transformed into that icon with big payout, to get you extra wins.
Besides the special wilds, which are available during the stages that I mentioned above, you will also find regular and expanding wilds in this slot.
Theme & Design
With inspiration coming from Batman Begins, you can probably guess what kind of symbols you will find in this slot machine. Characters from the 2005 film have their photos among the symbols, including Bruce Wayne which was played by Christian Bale, along with Commissioner Gordon, Ducard, Scarecrow and Ra’s Al Ghul. Moving further, you will encounter the feature symbols that are specific to the five levels, along with different playing cards, six of them total.
Batman Begins has a wealth of features to share with you, along with high-end graphics and some incredible prizes. It doesn’t do as well where the RTP is concerned, and that’s the only flaw that I can see with it.
