Playson’s Kingdom of the Sun relies on the extremely popular theme of Ancient Egypt, which they, along with many other developers, have used a lot of times in the past. Right out of the gate, it’s clear that a big strength of this slot machine is going to be its design, one of the best that I’ve seen, even among the many that make up the Ancient Egypt category.
15 fixed lines will be used on 5 reels. The top prize that you’re going for will apparently reach $150,000. Feature wise, you get a slot that offers wild symbols, spreading wilds and bonus symbols.
Betting and Prizes
The game is playable with bets that go from $0.15 to $300. Because you use it on 15 lines, it varies the amount selected for each one between $0.01 and $20.
If you go for the maximum possible bet, then the slot can pay up to $5,000 for a single combo, the one that is made up entirely out of wilds. It’s not a huge jackpot, but then again, it’s the RTP that counts most in the long run. The game has other features as well, including one involving re-spins where you could end up with as much as 500x the bet, or up to $150,000 cash.
Kingdom of the Sun Slot Features
There are two relatively simple symbols that you can use along the way, to trigger the various features which the game proposes.
I’d start with the wild symbol, which you get in the form of a Wild logo. These are symbols which you use as substitutes for all other symbols that form combinations. The wilds may also give you a direct reward, of up to $5,000, if you manage to fill up all positions on a line with them.
Next, I’d like to discuss the Bonus Logo, a scatter that you get only on reel 1. You only need one symbol to get a feature out of it though. Have the Bonus symbol appear, and you win a feature called Spreading Wild. This feature involves re-spins and wild symbols that can spread across the reels. If you manage to take the feature as far as it can go, then you could get the biggest payout that the slot has to offer, worth 500x the total bet of the round.
You will not get a huge list of features out of Kingdom of the Sun, but at least there is one solid option for you to have fun with, in the form of those Spreading Wilds.
Theme & Design
I wouldn’t consider this Playson's slot machine great, but that doesn’t have to do as much with the features, payouts or quality of design, as it does with the actual theme that the developer chose for it. Using Ancient Egypt and its gods for inspiration is something that has been done over a hundred times already, and I’d say that there are way too many slots on the market that cover the topic, especially since they don’t bring anything new.
Still, I have to give Playson props for the quality of the design, so if you enjoy a good-looking slot, and you like Ancient Egypt as well, then Kingdom of the Sun is not a slot to walk away from. Bonus and Wild logos will pop up on the reels, along with the pharaoh, Cleopatra and animals that represent various gods (falcons, snakes, cats). Playing cards are there as well, four of them, Jack to Ace.
Kingdom of the Sun is not a slot machine that you’d consider inspired theme wise, but the level of the graphics is very high, and it does give you several features that look cool.
