With Joker Expand: 40 Lines, Playson is adding to a series of slot machines which all revolve around the image of the same Female Joker. One other game from the series has only 5 lines, so in this case we’re looking at a game with better chances of keeping things entertaining.
First, you get a slot machine which delivers 40 paylines on 5 reels. The game, when it’s at its highest bet, will deliver rewards even of up to $400,000 (4,000x the stake). Expanding wilds and two scatters will be the main features that the game will deliver, so on that count it looks like a relatively simple game.
Betting and Prizes
An increased number of lines doesn’t necessarily mean a bigger wager. Playson sticks with what it knows best and it uses the same betting range of $0.20 to $100, which we see in plenty of other games of theirs. The maximum line bet seems to reach $2.50, but it’s not important to know this, since the paytable is updated based on the current total bet and it shows cash rather than coins.
The absolute best outcome of a spin would be to have a screen filled with red 7s, though the expanding wilds can help as well on the middle reels. The result would be the formation of 40 wins in a round, of up to $10,000 each. That’s an impressive 4,000x the stake maximum potential, whose value could reach $400,000 cash. It already sounds like a game that you’d want to play, simple features or not.
Joker Expand: 40 Lines Slot Features
As I mentioned already, the game isn’t the most impressive release from Playson, at least where its features are concerned. There are wilds and scatters in the game, nothing else, but even so the slot has nice potential.
First of all, we get the usual Female Joker, serving as the wild feature. It’s allowed to contribute to the formation of all other types of winning combinations, so it can be used only together with regular symbols. It’s an expanding wild, so it takes over the four positions of each reel it is on. The middle three columns are the ones which can get the wild Joker. Naturally, none of the scatters can be replaced with a wild.
Moving on to the scatters, there are two symbols that you can use in this game, based on the number of times that they appear in a round, and not on their positions.
First, check out the Diamond Star, a scatter which the game will allow on the 1st, 3rd and 5th reels. Having it land on all three reels gets you paid up to 20x the bet.
Second, there is the Gold Star scatter, this time a symbol which may appear anywhere. At least three have to appear, to get you a reward, with the best one of 100x the stake coming when you get five.
Theme & Design
It’s a simple theme, revolving around the Joker and other classic symbols. Several Star icons, a classic red 7 and a whole bunch of fruits are going to appear on the reels. Grapes, watermelon, pears, oranges, cherries, plums or lemons are the other symbols. It’s a decent design if you look at the symbol quality, but the things it’s showing us are much too common, so it doesn’t have a story to tell us.
It’s going to give you a lot more opportunities to win, since it has more lines than the other Joker Expand slot, it can pay very well and it’s got a simple mix of features.
