Dancing Dragon appears to offer exactly what it suggests, a theme where the focus is on a festival from China and on the elements which are often found at such an event. There are celebration related images used here, using dancing dragons among them of course. This game has been created by Playson.
Playson’s Dancing Dragon Spring Festival is a slot machine which delivers 5x3 reels that are occupied by 30 active lines. The wagers tend to have very high values, so in theory you can end up with a reward of up 5,000x the total bet ($150,000). The slot has Dancing Lion scatters and Gold Coin Wilds, so the feature list feels very thin.
Betting and Prizes
The Bet section is clickable and it opens up to reveal the total bet values that you can choose from. The smallest one that I’ve seen was at $0.30, while the highest possible wager can reach $30. The line wagers that you’re placing this way vary between $0.01 and $1.
The big reward in this game is going to come via the Dragon symbol, a regular one that is capable of forming combinations with rewards of up to 5,000x, or $5,000. There is also a bigger reward that can be won when the player gets all the positions on the reels filled only with Dragons, in which case a reward of 5,000x total bet is given away, meaning as much as $150,000 cash.
You might be disappointed when you see how few features are employed in this game, but the slot ends up being just as profitable as any other modern game, its RTP being set to 95.79%.
Dancing Dragon Slot Machine Features
If you’re really into modern slot machines, then the features are going to be the ones that you will disapprove of. There aren’t that many to speak of, with the exception of two simple symbols, a wild and a scatter.
On the side of the wild, we have a Gold Coin symbol that is only capable of appearing on the 3rd reel. The wild is going to be a substitute and nothing else, used in any regular combination that may form inside. It doesn’t help out the scatter and it can’t pay you directly either.
Moving on to the scatter, here we have the Dancing Lion, just as popular as the dragon at these Chinese festivals. By having two or more symbols appear on the five reels, you will be rewarded. The game can pay anywhere from 2x to 100x the wager of the spin, for two to five icons.
Theme & Design
We have a festival themed game here, so pretty much everything that you see on the reels is related to the way the Chinese celebrate these moments or to their culture in general. Among the symbols that I’ve noticed on the reels, there were gold coins, Dancing Lion costumes, Dragon costumes, firecrackers, paper lanterns, drums, kites, envelopes and music instruments. I really enjoyed the way the game was designed as well, I think it’s a major point in its favor, particularly since there weren’t any non-themed symbols present.
Dancing Dragon Spring Festival was a cool game overall, especially if you enjoy something pretty to look at. The lack of advanced features might bother some, even though it doesn’t seem to influence the size of the theoretical RTP.
