Crystal Land is a game that Playson released right before the winter season, yet it has a very sunny disposition and a look that makes you smile. The cartoon style game has a gemstone and crystal theme, along with gameplay that’s featuring a different type of experience for the player.
The layout in Crystal Land has 7x7 symbols, with some of them blocked at the start. The combinations that are formed through the Cluster Pays system will give you rewards of up to $9,000 when the field is cleared. You will discover wild symbols inside, plus Crystal features which are unlocked as you unblock certain rows that you don’t have access to at the start. Bonus rounds and multipliers are among those Crystal features.
Betting and Prizes
With no actual paylines for you to cover, you just get a general bet that applies to the entire field. The minimum value that it can be set to is $0.20, while the maximum one is $100. To modify it, click on the Bet section at the bottom, and choose the wager that you want to use from the pop-up menu.
The game’s winning combinations will pay the most when they have 9+ icons of the same type in them. The best one pays $1,000 and it has the image of the Diamond. The bonus rounds are the ones that can boost that prize to $9,000, using up to 9x multipliers. It’s giving you a Return to Player percentage of 95.20%, which is actually a decent number to work with, though not as high as in other similar slots.
Crystal Land Slot Features
Crystal Land’s way of doing things is not considered standard for a slot machine, but it’s not the first one to have these features either. The combinations are going to be formed with symbols that are next to each other, if they’re of the same type. 5 symbols are needed for the minimum combo, while 9+ will offer the highest payout. The symbols may touch both horizontally and vertically. When a combo forms, the symbols that are part of it explode and allow others to come and replace them.
Wild symbols are used inside, and obviously they are going to be useful as substitutes for other symbols that are needed. They’re going to take part in whatever winning cluster that is formed next to them.
You will notice that not all positions on the field are open to you. Some of them are blocked at the start. As you win and you get new symbols to appear during the same round, the game field will start to unlock new positions for you, offering more chances to get paid. As you unlock these new rows of symbols, you will also gain access to new features. Some might get you random wilds of two types for the reels, while others can trigger the bonus round, the one where up to 9x multipliers are possible.
Theme & Design
Crystal Land has a pretty boring theme, basically involving a full screen of crystals and gemstones of different cuts and colors. They look cheerful enough, but the background image looks a lot more interesting than the stuff that’s happening on the reels. The choice of symbols might not be great, but the quality of the design can be called that, and I’m especially talking about the countryside image shown behind the game area.
Crystal Land manages to give the player a good mix of features, making this cluster pay type of slot even more complex than a lot of its competitors. Unfortunately, the theme is the same one as in most of the others, and it’s not very exciting.
