Piggy Riches Megaways is the result of a partnership between Red Tiger and NetEnt, allowing the latter to offer Megaways based games. They’ve designed it as a typical Megaways release, which follows in the footsteps of the popular Piggy Riches, another NetEnt release.
Given its name, Piggy Riches Megaways, it’s not a surprise that it offers 6 reels with up to 117,649 Megaways active each round. It’s a slot with good potential, of over 10,000x the stake, which means that prizes of over $100,000 are a possibility in its case. The game relies on wilds, free spins, bonus features and plenty of multipliers. The only slight surprise comes from the RTP, of just 95.71%, a bit too low for what we’ve come to expect from NetEnt and from Megaways slots in general.
Betting and Prizes
Betting wise, it’s more like a Red Tiger slot machine, than a NetEnt one, with the option to choose the total amount found in the bottom left corner. The betting options allow you to spend $0.10 to $10, on each spin. You get all ways to win active, in exchange.
The slot’s potential goes over 10,000x a bit, so payouts of $100,000 are not out of the question, provided that a $10 wager was active at the time. It’s a game with plenty of multipliers as well, so the huge number of ways to win/combinations isn’t the only part that contributes to the big potential.
As a game with high volatility, Piggy Riches Megaways can prove a bit risky to play, but that’s common for the entire category that it is a part of. Another side that I’m not too excited about, the RTP of 95.71% is actually lower than the average of the Megaways category (typically, slots are from 96% to 96.50%).
Piggy Riches Megaways Slot Features
As usual, if it’s a Megaways release, then the number of symbols shown on each reel will vary, from one round to the next. 2 to 7 symbols are chosen, for each column. You might get a few hundred combinations, or as many as 117,649 possibilities.
Cascading Wins are part of the mechanic here, so the winning symbols get removed and replaced with new ones.
Mega Wilds can show up, using the Gentleman Pig for their icon. They expand to cover a reel, and then they apply multipliers of up to 7x. You can get a maximum of three wilds on the reels in a single round, and they all apply their multipliers to the wins.
Lady Pig symbols are acting as scatters, used to trigger free spins, whenever they show up three times. Next, you’re taken to the Wheel, to decide how many free spins (up to 22) and with what multiplier (up to 10x) you start with. As you form wins, the multiplier goes up, and there is no limit placed on it.
Theme & Design
It’s a follow up for the popular Piggy Riches slot, and it even relies on some of the original graphics. Naturally, this game has a Megaways engine, and it changes enough things visually as well. The symbols include the Gentleman Pig, the Lady Pig, keys, wallets, piggy banks, gold credit cards, but also a bunch of Royal playing cards which look fairly elegant. Overall, it’s a good looking game, I have nothing to complain about, and if you loved the original, you will enjoy playing the Megaways version as well.
Piggy Riches Megaways has a modern setup, big top payouts and exciting multipliers, but it also comes with higher volatility and below average RTP, so it’s not the best game you will find in this category of highly volatile new slots.
