Disco Double was launched by iSoftBet on September 14th, 2017, but despite the date of its release, this is no modern game, not in terms of theme at least. They’ve went with a classic look for this 5 reel slot, but one where there is also a certain focus on the nightlife and on disco style graphics.
The game’s layout was kept simple as well, being the kind that has 5 reels and a total of 20 fixed win lines on them. You can get a jackpot of $10,000 by playing this slot at its highest wager, while as its major features you will discover a wild symbol, a scatter and free spins where multipliers are available.
Betting and Prizes
The game will tell you that it has 20 active lines, and it will allow you to set the denomination for them. You can’t change how many lines are active though. As for the denomination, the values that you choose from will range between $0.01 and $1. The complete range in this case is $0.20 to $20.
Whether you’re in free spins mode or in the base game, the biggest reward you can go after will be worth 10,000 coins, or $10,000 cash. Though multipliers are available during free spins, the feature doesn’t allow you to win more than 10,000 coins from it, and if you get more than that it will be cancelled. It’s a weird move, one that might feel a bit harsh for a player that gets really lucky during this feature.
The majority of the available features aren’t that interesting, but at least they can end up being profitable. I would start with a wild symbol here, since it is responsible for the biggest payouts possible in this game. You can win 10,000 coins with it, but the requirement is to have all five spots on an active line occupied by wilds alone. You can get smaller combinations formed with wilds as well, or you can have them as substitutes for other symbols. They would not replace a scatter symbol though.
Moving on to the Disco Double scatter, you’re looking at another symbol which can pay very well, and the best part is that you don’t need it to appear in any fixed positions. Just by landing three or more scatter icons you can get a reward of up to 2,500 coins and 10 free spins. The downside would be that you can’t retrigger free spins in this game. Furthermore, the free spins will end once you get to 10,000 coins won, and this includes the amount that you got at the start from the scatters. I don’t remember ever seeing such limited free spins in terms of potential payouts, and I think it’s a bad move on iSoftBet’s part.
While you’re enjoying your free spins, the game will add an extra wild on reel 3, one which will include a 2x multiplier. The image of this extra wild is that of a Mirror Ball with an X2 logo on it.
Theme & Design
The combination of a disco theme and a classic one doesn’t make for a very entertaining game overall. The symbol list starts up with the Wild logo, then the Disco Double logo, a Star, a gold 7, red 7, blue 7, green 7 and the three stacked Bar logos. As you can see, there is nothing truly interesting here.
Disco Double isn’t the most interesting game theme wise, doesn’t have above average graphics and its average RTP is not quite as high as in other slots launched at the same time as it was. Overall, it’s an easily forgettable experience.
