Ghostbusters: Triple Slime is an IGT design and a slot machine that is considered branded, being built based on the official license from the original Ghostbusters film. This is also the second game that IGT offers based on the same topic, the difference in the title coming from the Triple Slime bit.
The game has received 5 reels that have varying sizes, ranging from 3 to 5 symbols, so the number of ways to win is a non-standard 720. Wild symbols are among the features that are offered, plus there will also be Giant Bonus Wheels and Triple Slime bonus games.
Betting and Prizes
The game will get you to wager a minimum of 50 credits per round, with the option of taking this value even up to 2,500 credits. The game may allow you to change how much the individual coins are worth. The wagers need to be higher here than in other slots, since they always have to get 720 ways to win to be active.
There is a decent top jackpot offered in Ghostbusters: Triple Slime, which will return whatever wager you placed per line that round, at a multiple of 10,000x. That’s a great return on your investment, especially since the average RTP is set to a bit above 96%, which is a number that any slot should have in this day and age.
One of the symbols that you’re going to have at your disposal will be the one that has the ability of a wild. Only three out of five reels can get this particular symbol, which is the only downside that I see with it. Otherwise, when landing on one of the middle three reels, wild symbols are going to be capable of participating in any combinations formed in the game, which would need certain symbols on the reels on which the substitutes are already present. Naturally, this help will only come if the wild is matched with regular symbols, not with any of the scatters.
The first of the two scatters available here will be the one showing you the Green Ghost. Appearing three or more times in any position, these ghosts will be able to trigger a Slimer Scatter bonus. For each scatter symbol that triggered the feature, you will get one scatter wheel. Each wheel will spin and grant you a cash prize, that can be within a certain range, depending on which one you’re spinning. The values go higher the further to the right you are. While the reel 1 wheel delivers payouts of 10x to 100x, the one from the 5th reel pays 100x to 2,000x.
The other feature is called Triple Slime and it is activated by its own bonus symbols, once again required to show up in three or more positions. The screen will be occupied by a total of 12 ghosts, out of which you select as many as you had triggering symbols. Wheels of different colors will be offered, and if you get three that match you will receive a fixed cash prize that corresponds to that color. You also get a spin for those wheels, with multipliers of up to 10x and with cash prizes of up to 5,000 coins possible.
Theme & Design
It’s not a particularly impressive design, but then again it’s hard to expect one from a slot that’s modeled after a film that came out in 1984. You still get the actors from the original film, along with images of ghosts, logos and anti-ghost equipment.
Ghostbusters: Triple Slime should be enjoyable for the fans of the franchise, but if you try to compare it with any modern slot machine, it will not be the winner when it comes to graphics.
