Ghostbusters Plus Slot Machine Review

Ghostbusters Plus is the third game that IGT is releasing in this series, and of course, it’s going to be a branded slot machine, which uses actual photos of all the major characters from the original movie. It manages to look good, even though it relies on the look of an 80s film, and that’s something that I couldn’t say about the first game of the Ghostbusters series.

For this particular slot machine, we’re getting 5x3 reels, along with 20 active lines. The game has its top payouts of up to 12,500x on the line, more than enough potential there to make it attractive, and it appears that the RTP is at the right level as well, being announced at 98%. We get up to 25x multipliers during free spins, along with wilds of several types, and a level-up system that brings its own set of features along the way.

Betting and Prizes

There will be 25 coins in the game’s wagers, and so the minimum amount used in a single round is $0.25 ($0.01 coins). There is also the option for a much higher wager, of up to $750, in which case you’d be using $30 as the coin value.

The payouts are only OK if we’re looking at how much the base game will offer, up to 1,000x. In theory, the free spins could pay up to 12,500x, since huge multipliers are offered at that point, and applied to regular combinations which usually pay at most 500x. Whether there is a much lower cap on the jackpot, I have no way of knowing right now, there is no official information on that.

Ghostbusters Plus Game Features

I quite like the list of features that the game relies on, and of course it all starts with a simple wild, which will take the form of the Ghostbusters logo. It is a replacement symbol, and it also creates combinations directly, with up to 40x total stake paid on each line.

Should one of the Ghost symbols appear on the 3rd reel, you get to zap it away, though you might have to hit it up to three times before it is removed. Each zap that is used, will place a Ghost Wild in a queue. Capture a ghost, to level up.

You can get Extra Ghost Wilds, Expanding Ghost Wilds or Multiplier Ghost Wilds. In each case, there are several variants in place. Multipliers range from 3x to 10x, expansions occur in different directions, and you can have 2 to 4 extra wilds added.

A random Equipment feature can help you out along the way if it triggers. It gives you different types of symbols, transforms some into wilds, and so on.

As you Level Up, the game offers you different advantages. Multipliers, expanding wilds, extra wilds, bonus games, these you get along the way, as you make your way to level 10.

Zuul Free Spins is the final feature, and the one to offer up to 25x wild multipliers, along with Jumbo Expanding Wilds or up to 5 extra wilds added to the reels. A maximum of 25 free spins can be played if you retrigger the feature several times. You get 5 free spins at most when you trigger it initially.

Theme & Design

The Ghostbusters movie theme is well handled, much more so than in the first slot of the series. We’re looking at modern graphics, showing us the actors and the characters they played in the movie, but the symbols are well polished and they don’t look like 80s photos here. Logos, ghosts and Royals are the rest of the symbols which will appear.
