A good pirate themed online slot is always fun, and Greentube is taking advantage of people’s love for treasure hunts, by giving us Seven Seas Jackpots. It’s a slot machine that has several exciting things to offer, especially through features and graphics, but I’ve found less appealing things there as well, particularly where the RTP is involved.

Seven Seas Jackpots is a slot game which offers 5 reels to spin, and 20 lines to form combinations on. Whether it’s the Seven Seas Jackpot, or the Giant symbols found during the free spins, the features should be a strength of the game. The medium volatility recommends it to most players, of all types, but the 95.18% RTP is the part that I feel disappointed in. As for the big rewards that you can expect the game to deliver, 700x the stake is the highest that it can go.

Betting and Prizes

Bets of $0.20 will get you started, but if you want to play for a bigger prize, your investment needs to go higher. The upper limit of the betting range allows this, going up to $200 for a single spin.

Rewards are OK-ish, delivering up to 700x the stake in a single spin. It doesn’t quite match the amount of risk involved, but as you can see below, it’s the RTP that is to blame.

You’re looking at a game whose volatility is Medium, which means that there is a certain balance between the size of its rewards, and the amount of risk involved in the short term.

What doesn’t sound as good, is the Return to Player, at 95.18% here. It tells us how much the game is expected to pay back to its players over a very long period of time, and it’s below the 96% figure that is considered average.

Seven Seas Jackpots Slot Features

Expanding wilds, showing up as Pirates on the middle three reels, are able to take over those columns and participate in the formation of wins on all the active lines. Of course, you actually need the rest of the required regular symbols, in order for it to be of use to you. It will not be a replacement for scatters though.

Second, we’re looking at the Treasure Chest symbols, which you get on all five reels, but you only need on 3 or more. At that point, they trigger 5 free spins. In this mode, you get Giant symbols as a special feature. Pirates, Chests or Coins, so all feature symbols, can show up Giant-sized and they count as 9 symbols (3x3 sized). You also retrigger the free spins, with 3 more rounds, if a Giant Chest lands.

The final feature, is the Seven Seas Jackpot bonus, triggered when at least 5 Coins appear scattered in view. It’s a very common feature these days, and it involves the appearance of only blanks and Coins on the reels. You start with 3 Respins, where the triggering Coins and any new other such symbols get locked. You reset the respins when there are new Coins added, and your aim is to fill those reels with such symbols before you run out of time. To win the Grand Jackpot, you need all 15 locations covered by Coins.

Theme & Design

It might be a pirate themed slot machine, but if you check out its reels what you’re going to find is mostly a collection of classic icons. The background, with its ocean and surrounding sail ships, as well as the ship-based decorations from next to the reels, do look impressive though.

As for the included symbols, the list has Lucky 7s, Ship’s Bells, Watermelon, Grape, Plum, Orange, Lemon and Cherries. Feature symbols show us the Female Pirate and Treasure Chests.

Seven Seas Jackpots combines a fairly common Respin feature, with excellent graphics and a theme that mixes two different topics in an interesting manner. It ends up a good-looking slot machine, but with a below average RTP which keeps the slot’s potential from reaching decent levels.
