The Chinese history and lore has been used once again as the basis for a slot machine, and in the case of Shen Long Mi Bao we have Booongo to thank for it. It’s a Chinese dragon themed slot machine, which will make use of related symbols, but which also has several gemstone as its secondary icons.
You will find in Shen Long Mi Bao a layout which involves 5 reels and then places 10 active lines on them. You could get wins of at most $30,000 from a single round, and as you play there will be expanding wilds and re-spins as the slot’s big features.
Betting and Prizes
Given the mobile-friendly design of Shen Long Mi Bao, you will have an entire screen dedicated to the betting options. Those range from $0.20 to $100, with ten other values listed between those extremes. You select the total bet only, not the line bet, but you change that one automatically, between $0.02 and $10.
Prizes will consist of up to $3,000 per winning combination formed, and with up to three expanding wilds on the reels it shouldn’t be as hard as in other slots to get a full screen filled with matching icons. That would get you up to $30,000 in a single round, which appears to be the maximum potential of the slot (300x the bet). Not quite exciting, but the game uses fewer symbols than other slots, and so winning comes easier to you inside.
Shen Long Mi Bao Slot Features
First of all, a word about how the game plays. You will find a total of 8 symbols on its reels, 7 of which are considered regulars and form combinations on the slot’s lines. That’s considerably less than in other slots, which will often have 10 regular symbols and 2-3 features, so the combinations should be forming more often as a result (the reels aren’t as diverse). The low potential of the game (300x the stake) is explainable through this choice as well, but I’d still like to see the RTP for this slot.
Now, the game’s only real feature is going to be its Dragon Wild. This expanding wild will be visible on the reels 2, 3 and 4, and whenever it appears there it also triggers 1 re-spin. The expanded wild is locked, and re-spins are then triggered, which can continue if additional wilds get in position. At most, there can be 3 re-spins, one for each expanded wild that can appear on the reels.
This feature should often give you up to 10 winning combinations formed in a single round, and it’s through them that filling up the reels with top paying combinations is doable.
Theme & Design
A mythical Chinese dragon is at the basis of the game’s story. Shen Long Mi Bao will feature several symbols that are dragon related, and the Golden Dragon that is used for the wild is a great example of that. Two other themed symbols will be the Chinese Coin (square hole in the middle and writing on it) and the Twin Dragons icon. From there, the game moves to a system with gemstones for its other five symbols, which are far less interesting, and honestly they just feel like filler symbols.
Shen Long Mi Bao should be fairly enjoyable, a low volatility title that has the expanding wild as its ultimate feature.
