The gladiators of Ancient Rome are once again the stars of a slot machine, this time being used in Blueprint’s Rome: Rise of an Empire. They came up with a feature rich slot machine, offering some decent graphics as well in there.
Once the 5 reels of this slot start spinning, there will always be 20 active lines on which your combinations may form. The game is the sort that doesn’t have a huge payout potential, but RTP wise it should be as good as most. The feature list is the one that looks best, in terms of variety at least, with 5 options coming via a Bonus Wheel and another 5 triggering at random.
Betting and Prizes
The way that Blueprint approaches wagers is to make them simple to use. The total bet selection is the only option you’re given, and in this case the range is $0.20 to $500. There are line bets of up to $25 which are selected at this point.
Based on what we’ve seen, the game will offer rewards of up to $25,000 in a single round, or about 1,000 coins. It’s not a particularly generous game, potential wise, but the RTP should be adequate nonetheless. It’s just a different type of gameplay, additional prizes coming via a lot of different features.
Rome: Rise of an Empire Slot Features
There is a very generous list of features present in Rome: Rise of an Empire, and you may trigger them at any point. Some of these are random options, others are going to trigger via a Bonus Wheel.
For starters, the least complicated feature of the game is going to be the SPQR Eagle, the wild feature. You just use this one as a substitute for a regular symbol, that’s it. It pays the game jackpot as well, if it creates a combo with wilds alone.
Next, there will be 5 different modifiers, random features which will be applied to the game when the Tiger leaps to the reels. Sword Strike will slash symbols away and give you symbol drops. Legion’s Glory will add 1-3 stacked wilds. Symbolus Maximum will transform regular symbols into wilds with multipliers. Spears of Destiny gives you a streak of spins which go on for as long as you improve the wins. Finally, Bonus Boost gives you additional scatter symbols.
A regular feature also exists in the slot, one which you trigger via scattered Bonus symbols, three of them in one round. The Bonus Wheel will follow, and once again you have 5 potential features to trigger.
Urn Riches is a picking feature, which will deliver multipliers, upgrades or access to a Big Money Bonus. Uprising is next, a feature which brings you cash prize. Volcanic Cash has free spins, with up to 5x multipliers most of the time, and up to 10x for the final round. Empress Treasure also includes free games, 15 and using expanding wilds which can be locked or traded for a cash prize. Finally, Big Money Bonus is a picking feature with big payouts to give away.
Theme & Design
I found the action in Rome: Rise of an Empire to be an adequate one, in terms of graphics. The symbols look good, but they’re not at the top of the category in terms of quality. For its symbols, they’ve used card suits, gladiators, the empress, helmets, swords and shields.
The features are the ones that will keep your interest in this game, as they bring up to 10x multipliers, free spins and a lot of other cool bonuses. Otherwise, the base game is slightly boring without them.
