A new branded game is about to enter the semi-crowded science fiction category, and it’s going to be a slot machine which is offered by Blueprint Gaming. The popular comedy science fiction movie appeared in 1996, and it was quite popular at the time. The game’s motto is “Nice Planet, We’ll Take It!”.
As for the actual game that we’re getting here, it’s a 5 reels slot machine which has a total of 25 fixed lines. The best rewards it offers will reach 5,000 coins via its special features, while the list of features will include scatters, wild symbols or free spins.
Betting and Prizes
Given the number of lines which needs to be used each round, you can expect for the minimum bet to start from $0.25, which would allow for a line bet of $0.01. The amount will go up from there, as high as $25 for one round, and $1for one line. It’s not a very high wager, so I wouldn’t expect high rollers to be satisfied with it.
The best rewards which the developer has mentioned for Mars Attacks will pay 5,000 coins, or a maximum of $5,000. It’s not a huge amount, but the game is more of the type that will pay often in smaller amounts, not something that would have high volatility.
Mars Attacks Slot Features
On the feature side of things, the game seems to be rather tame, as it mostly offers regular options. You get wilds, scatters and free spins, the latter ones with some additional options.
To start with, you’re going to see the Logo being used for the wild feature. As the substitute, it will be in use whenever you have it in the right position. It can be combined with regular symbols, to create new combinations. Wilds may not act as replacements for any of the scatters though.
Second, you can also have scatter symbols in the game, and the way they work is they land wherever they can and then give you access to special features. For that to happen, a minimum of three such symbols need to be visible for a single round. In exchange for 3, 4 or 5 scatters visible, the game delivers 9, 12 or 24 free spins. The amount depends on the number of symbols triggering the feature.
The free spins have their own extra feature to offer, the wild symbols taking on some extra responsibilities. Whenever these symbols appear, they are stacked and sticky. What this means is that wilds now appear in groups of up to three symbols and they can end up covering an entire reel. They also turn sticky, remaining in their position for the rest of the free spins. The potential is huge in this case, particularly if you get wilds to appear on multiple reels.
Theme & Design
The Mars Attacks theme is a very interesting one. Invasions of Planet Earth might not be that unique for a slot machine theme, but the 1996 Mars Attacks film was a comedy and a successful one at that. The slot machine will hopefully borrow enough from it to be fun to play. Still, I’ve noticed them using Royals as well, not just images of aliens and weaponry, so they could’ve done better.
Mars Attacks should be a fun slot machine from Blueprint, no matter if you know or not the 1996 film that it is inspired by.
