Golden Wisdom Slot Machine Review

Golden Wisdom is available at Ainsworth casinos, and the Australian developer crafted a Chinese themed game for us here, a slot with the usual mix of symbols which always seem to pop up when it comes to these titles. It’s got some good sides as well, but I will let you read about them in our review.

5 reels & 25 paylines are provided in Golden Wisdom. The game offers fixed jackpots of up to $30,000, along with a range of features which starts off with the usual wilds, scatters and free spins, but then along the way it also adds a Golden Cash bonus and wild multipliers. Without those multipliers involved, the game doesn’t pay all that much, up to $8,000 only, but there is room for improvement as well.

Betting and Prizes

You’re going to have 25 active lines at your disposal, no matter how much you’re spending each round. The game allows for a bet of $1 to $40 to be selected.

One of the game’s potential wins will come from the fixed jackpots, which are shown at the top of the screen. The best one of the four, the Grand jackpot, will pay $30,000. I’m far less impressed with the amount that the regular combinations will pay, with a potential of just 200x total stake ($8,000) per spin. Luckily, a 2x wild multiplier will boost that jackpot, to $16,000, though only during free games.

I’m feeling OK about the game’s RTP, of 96.10%. At that level, I wouldn’t consider it a reason to play the game by itself, it’s only average-sized, but it will not turn anyone away either.

Golden Wisdom Game Features

First, when it comes to the slot’s features, we will check out the Dragon Wild. As a substitute symbol, this one lands only on the last four reels. From there it acts as a replacement, and as usual, you will get it to work from next to regular symbols only.

Reaching the free spins, a target that all players have in a slot which uses this feature, will require that you land the scatter symbols using the feature’s logo, at least three times. 8 free spins get triggered when it happens. In this mode, you gain additional free spins with each new scatter that lands in view. There will be two new wilds with multipliers, doubling wins from reels 2 or 4.

Golden Cash is a bonus feature, which you get to trigger via Golden Peach scatters. You do need at least 6 of those, in order to get into the feature. It will involve 3 re-spins, which will allow you to win extra scatters of this type. Once the re-spins end, you get a random prize, between 1x and 50x total stake, for each visible Golden Peach.

Theme & Design

Golden Wisdom will give us a Chinese themed design, which is not that different from what we’ve seen in other similar games, from most developers. As usual, the focus tends to be on legendary creatures and on wealth related images. A Dragon, a Golden Peach, a logo for the free spins, pigs, frogs, turtles, fish, a money tree and several Royals, this is the complete list of symbols offered here. I didn’t hate the design, but it’s not something that will get me to play the slot on its own either.

Conclusion

Golden Wisdom, while an OK game overall, doesn’t have any major points of attraction, and it’s not a slot machine that I’d say is a must play. Mostly, it’s a game that I’d consider average.
